100 columns, Kingston School of Arts


Through these 100 drawings – some almost comically abstract, others full of detail – we decoded the principles in past works where the column takes primacy as the fundamental critical and conceptual component. This small publication was produced with the master students of Kingston School of Art.

1st prize for 24 assisted housing apartments in Ried-Brig, Valais, Switzerland


We are delighted to announce that our competition entry for the New Residence Brigerberg in Ried-Brig has been awarded with the 1st prize. The project consists of 24 assisted housing apartments, a set of collective functions, an underground parking, and the design of the surrounding public space. Tiles for Musikatelier

We have finalised the mock-up for the façade and roof cladding for the Musikatelier in Winterthur, Switzerland. The next two months we will be producing over 1800 tiles as part of an on-going investigation in the relationship between architecture and hands-on production.

Open position


We are looking for a motivated assistant to help us with the production of 1600 tiles. The tiles will be produced in our atelier in Studio Citygate in Brussels from mid September until mid October. The tiles will be produced as facade cladding for a pavilion in Winterthur, Switzerland. You will be working part-time in an international team. Flexible working times are required.   The ideal applicant has experience with hands-on production, has good technical skills, and is keen to take on a large amount of responsibility. 4th prize for the new day care center Hebel in St. Gallen, Switzerland

We are delighted to have been awarded the 4th prize in the open competition with 115 contestants for the new day care center Hebel in St. Gallen in Switzerland. The competition involved the reorganisation of the site and landscape, and the design of a building to provide space for three nurseries. The jury rapport can be downloaded here.





UU objects on show at GANG atelier

We are pleased to welcome you to the first opening of GANG atelier, where a selection of our objects will be on show. GANG represents works by upcoming and established artists and design pieces by some of Belgium’s most ingenious young designers. Cladding for Musikatelier


Solanellas Van Noten Meister continues to explore the boundaries between architecture, research and hands-on production and will design and manufacture the cladding for a Musikatelier in Winterthur, Switzerland. During the first design workshop with the architects, we investigated different production methods and compositional ideas.





Sight Unseen

Our UU range is featured on Sight Unseen, an online magazine that uncovers what’s new and next in design and the visual arts, with a focus on independent makers working outside traditional disciplinary boundaries. Opening Exhibition at Kõbõ Art Space


We are looking forward to our second exhibition “Aus dem Fenster auf den Kanal” (Out the window on the canal) by Miriam Rutherfoord & Joke Schmidt at Kõbõ Art Space.

Hochparterre – February 2019


Our proposal for the new primary school at the Campus Bammatta in Naters, Switzerland has been published in the Swiss magazine Hochparterre (edition February 2019).




Opening Atelier Kōbō
