Lecture at HSLU
On Thursday 14/05 Camiel Van Noten will hold an online lecture on our recent works. In this lecture, we will illustrate how the central role of ‘making’ in our design process influences our work. The lecture is public and can be joined by clicking here. Starting time: 12:15.
Solanellas Van Noten Meister is looking for an intern to join our team for a minimum three month placement. We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented young designer to join our office in Zurich or in Brussels for this design-focused opportunity. The ideal candidate will be a strong designer with outstanding model making and presentation skills. You will work alongside a dynamic and young team on various projects and competitions.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- an outstanding design portfolio
- not afraid to make mistakes
- fluent in English, written and spoken
- experience with VectorWorks
- excellent Photoshop and InDesign skills
- team player and sociable
- vailable for at least three months

Design Museum Ghent
Our candle holders will be on show at the Design Museum in Ghent.
Modest Ulier, Lleida
Our refurbishment of an appartement in Lleida has now been completed. We invited Swiss photographer Roshan Adhihetty to photograph the project.
Lecture at the Accademia Architettura Mendrisio
Solanellas Van Noten Meister will present their latest work at the Accademia Architettura Mendrisio on the 2nd of March. More details can be found here.
Tiles for Musikatelier
Solanellas Van Noten Meister has designed and manufactured the roof and facade cladding for a Musikatelier in Winterthur, Switzerland. The 1650 handmade cladding tiles are currently being installed on site.
Candle holders for Baroness O.
We designed and produced a limited edition of candle holders for Belgian design curator Baroness O. All pieces are made by hand by the designers.
Lecture at the University of Antwerp
Camiel Van Noten will take part in a panel discussion with,
among others, Dirk Somers and Janno Mertens, on the morphology of the interior.
The experts debate the question of whether interior design can gain in
significance by thinking from characteristic space fragments. The lecture takes
place at the architecture department of the University of Antwerp on the 19th

100 columns, Kingston School of Arts
Through these 100 drawings – some almost comically abstract, others full of detail – we decoded the principles in past works where the column takes primacy as the fundamental critical and conceptual component. This small publication was produced with the master students of Kingston School of Art.
1st prize for 24 assisted housing apartments in Ried-Brig, Valais, Switzerland
We are delighted to announce that our competition entry for the New Residence Brigerberg in Ried-Brig has been awarded with the 1st prize. The project consists of 24 assisted housing apartments, a set of collective functions, an underground parking, and the design of the surrounding public space. The jury report can be downloaded here.
Tiles for Musikatelier
We have finalised
the mock-up for the façade and roof cladding for the Musikatelier in
Winterthur, Switzerland. The next two months we will be producing over 1800
tiles as part of an on-going investigation in the relationship between architecture and hands-on production.
We are looking for a motivated assistant to help us with the production of 1600 tiles. The tiles will be produced in our atelier in Studio Citygate in Brussels from mid September until mid October. The tiles will be produced as facade cladding for a pavilion in Winterthur, Switzerland. You will be working part-time in an international team. Flexible working times are required. The ideal applicant has experience with hands-on production, has good technical skills, and is keen to take on a large amount of responsibility. 4th prize for the new day care center Hebel in St. Gallen, Switzerland
We are delighted to have been awarded the 4th prize in the open competition with 115 contestants for the new day care center Hebel in St. Gallen in Switzerland. The competition involved the reorganisation of the site and landscape, and the design of a building to provide space for three nurseries. The jury rapport can be downloaded here.
UU objects on show at GANG atelier
We are pleased to welcome you to the first opening of GANG
atelier, where a selection of our objects will be on show. GANG represents works
by upcoming and established artists and design pieces by some of Belgium’s most
ingenious young designers. This combination leads to a domestic meeting space –
